FCRA Notices Update

Posted in News & Events, News Articles on 09/26/2012

Recent legislation has transferred the interpreting of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) rules and forms from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).  As a result of that, the FCRA notices that must be given to both our clients and their applicants need to be updated as of January 1, 2013.  All of these forms can be accessed now on our website, and clients should begin to use these new forms now.

The updated forms are:

FCRA Summary of Rights
FCRA Notice To Users Of Consumer Reports
FCRA Notice To Furnishers of Information

For those clients who use BackTrack’s web retrieval website for viewing their reports, the new Summary of Consumer Rights which must be sent out with adverse action notices, is now available on the site.

For any questions on these forms or changes, contact BackTrack at 800-991-9694.
