Technology is a driving force in today’s business world.  To provide a “one-stop shop” for screening and hiring, the employment screening process is fast becoming an integral part of the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).  This process allows employers to attract, recruit, screen, hire and retain top talent in one streamlined operation.

Originally, background screenings were initiated by the employer faxing a copy of the candidate’s applicant and release form to the screening firm.  The next advance permitted employers to email the required documentation to the firm.  Later, employers were able to have the candidate complete an online application directly with the screening firm for processing.  These days, employers are looking for screening firms who are able to integrate seamlessly with their current ATS, allowing them to initiate the screening process with the click of a mouse.
